Judge Lloyd James Brooks had a Busy May

Letting you know what I been up to the last few days.

Spent an evening at the Standard Club attending the All Bar Chicago reception for Chicago’s new mayor Lori Lightfoot. It was special to meet with all of my colleagues on the bench and from the bar as we listened to Mayor Lightfoot give us her perspective on how lawyers and our court system can be apart of the solution to help our more vulnerable community members.

Last night I got to congratulate a friend, Margaret Manetti on doing a great job co-hosting the 105th Annual Installation Dinner for the WBAIheld at the Hilton Chicago Hotel. Celebrating woman’s participation in our legal community is of the upmost importance as we strive to have true equality for everyone.

I ended last night celebrating with the Illinois Latino Judges Association – ILJA with good friends and colleagues Van SmithGerardo Tristan Jr, Judge Evie De La Rosa, Judge Fredrick BatesBeatriz Frausto-SandovalBeatriz Santiago, and Gloria Chevere
