On June 3rd I visited the Hadiya Pendleton Park to participate in the 5th Annual Orange Day Peace Party. This is such an important event as we continue to discuss the epidemic of gun violence in our communities by coming together and celebrating the lives of those lost. Alderman Pat Dowell – 3rd Ward and Bill Lowry, Cook County Commissioner of the 3rd District were in the house as well. We have to support more events like this one if we hope to make real change in our communities.
